Why Headphones?
It's a question we get more than any other - phrased in many different ways, of course. From "Oh, that's interesting, why headphones?" to "Why would you do that? Just use a sound system."

So we'd like to explain our choice...
It is important to mention that we are aware that headphone events are not for everyone. We also know that silent disco headphones can't compete with a good sound system in terms of sound quality. But we still specialize in this technology because it allows us to do things that would otherwise not be possible.

Here are the reasons we love headphones....

Neighborhood Friendly...
Ever been kept awake by a party with music playing all night? Have you ever heard a club or bar shut down because neighbors complained about the noise? Of course you have. With headphones, that's a thing of the past.

Flexible...
Our headphones have more than one channel, which means they can play more than one thing at a time. Have you ever been to a festival where the stages were too close together and it sounded terrible? Been to Mauerpark on a Sunday and listened to 20 street musicians at once? Then you know what I mean! With our headphones, several people can listen to different genres of music while holding hands - without the sound rubbing off.

Intense...
Both for the artist and the audience. At a "normal" concert, people talk. That's normal, and it's okay! But it can affect the atmosphere in the room and during the performance. At our "silent" concerts, people tend to just not talk because they are immersed in their own little world and connected to the musicians as if it were a personal concert just for them. There's something special about sitting 30 feet away from the musicians and they can still whisper right in your ear!

Adjustable...
Speakers have only one volume - the one set by the sound engineer. Our headphones have their own volume control, so you can rock out or relax depending on your mood. Plus, they're easy to take off! One of the most common misconceptions is that people don't like headphone events because then they can't talk to their friends. Want to have a quick conversation? Just take the headphones off! Then you don't have to yell and no one can hear you.

Sustainable...
Our headphones and other event equipment are powered by built-in or rechargeable batteries and charged with solar power wherever possible, thanks to our friends at Jackery. This means we can charge them when we want, and not rely on the sun shining at the events themselves. Solar powered events, even without the sun!

Mobile...
silent.move is exactly that. Silent and mobile. With headphones, it's possible and it opens many doors for us. We can dance around the city, move the audience between stages, and take people on adventures. Headphones simply give us the freedom to move around without sacrificing sound quality.

But most importantly, they allow us to do what we do, where we do it....
Have you ever tried to get a permit for a soundsystem in a conservation area? Have you ever considered hosting a regular outdoor concert series in the middle of a residential neighborhood? The fact that we are "quiet" is often the only reason we are allowed to hold events in the places we perform. Spreepark, Tegel, Südgelände ... these are all conservation areas with very strict noise regulations. Loud events are simply not compatible with areas designated for protected species. By using headphones, we can ensure a sensitive and respectful approach to the environment while creating unique and interesting experiences. This is what makes our events special and is what drives us as event creators.
